10/20-10/24

Hi Parents! I know a lot of you were just introduced to our blog at parent/teacher conferences. We hope you log on weekly to check assignments. The blog is updated every Thursday, but due to conferences, our team meeting was rescheduled. This is only the second time in two years that our blog has ever been delayed, so please know that we strive to be punctual with updates!

Science- Students will be working in their groups for the assigned nutrition project this week. Presentations begin next week.

Math- Math mates due Friday. Group 1 with miss Williams – surface area and volume of cylinders and spheres. Group 2 Mr Thompson – surface area and volume of rectangular prisms and cylinders. Quiz make – up day is Thursday at lunch.

Social Studies- Students are required to complete project #1 for their Revolutionary War Assignment Sheet by this Friday, 10/24. Their Declaration Of Independence preamble is due Monday, 10/27. Any project turned in early will receive extra credit. We will continue and finish notes for this unit with the unit test hopefully at the end of next week. More to come on the due date. There will be daily spelling assignments from now till the end of the quarter, with a different type of spelling test at the end of each week. Ask your student what they are re-learning about how to know how to spell different words using different spelling rules.

Language Arts- Word Wisdom (Money Mistakes) due Thursday! We are continuing our work on our short story unit, and will be completing many of the short story worksheets in class. Your student needs to bring his/her short story packet each day.
